Participants will acquire background knowledge of how civil society can be understood in relation to the state and to the private sector, and they will learn how various types of societies influence the size and development of and strategies within civil society. The course will review the different ways that civil society organisations can promote and work with human rights, and examples from the international work of the Danish Institute for Human Rights will be included.
